I stayed at the Globe Hotel, a Wetherspoons spot in King’s Lynn, and it felt like stepping into history with a touch of modern comfort. This historic Georgian coaching inn, first recorded in 1650 as the Globe Inn, sits at the heart of the old town.
The modern hotel has a cozy bar where I could relax, and the beautiful garden was the perfect place to watch the River Great Ouse slide by. For just £62.50 a night, it was a great deal, and I’d love to visit again!

Wetherspoons Globe Hotel in King’s Lynn
The hotel has 37 rooms, including family rooms, a triple room, and an accessible room with a wet room, all situated near the lift for convenience. My en suite stay had tea- and coffee-making supplies, a Freeview television, a hairdryer, and unlimited free Wi-Fi.

The annual Mart in King’s Lynn is an exciting time, and I loved being part of it. The fair arrives on Sunday, 9 February, and leaves on 23 February, 2025, with the official opening on Wednesday, 12 February. Each evening, the bright lights and fun rides run until 10pm, filling the streets with energy.
But with all the fun comes some planning, parking is not permitted in Tuesday Market Place, and there’s no access to the hotel from King Street. I found the long-stay car park behind the Corn Exchange really helpful, but I’d also recommend the Austin Street car park for a smoother stay.
Check-in was smooth at 2pm, and I had plenty of time to relax before check-out at 11am the next day.

Customers Reviews of Wetherspoons Globe Hotel
This was the 4th Spoons hotel I’ve stayed in, and while each one is different, the high standards always remain the same. I’ve never had a seriously negative experience, and the hotels do listen to feedback.
I was lucky to get a parking space at the front, but if not, there’s a very large car park just 2-3 minutes away. For my 4 nights, I paid about £15 up front using the MiPermit app, which covered 4/5 days.
There were a couple of small niggles, my room was serviced quite late most times, and the wifi in the rooms at the back of the hotel was sketchy.
The reception staff kindly moved me to the front, which I’d say is worth asking for if it’s important. The bar was just like any other, no better, no worse, but I was slightly irritated that there was never any fresh fruit at breakfast.
Conclusion
The Wetherspoons Globe Hotel in King’s Lynn offers a comfortable and budget-friendly stay, especially if you plan wisely. With rooms available for as low as £62.50, the best deals can be found during the low season, and prices vary depending on the day of the week.
The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and bus station, making travel easy. Parking options include free bays in the evening and affordable long-term and short-term choices nearby. Whether visiting for the annual Mart, exploring the Hanseatic town, or venturing out to Sandringham Estate and the Norfolk coastline, there’s plenty to enjoy.
While the hotel maintains high standards, small niggles like late room service and sketchy Wi-Fi in the back rooms can be a drawback, but the staff is helpful in making adjustments. The bar experience is standard, though the lack of fresh fruit at breakfast was a minor disappointment. Overall, it’s a great stay for those looking for affordable comfort in a historic setting.
